HB 2733    RELATING TO THE HAWAIIAN HOME LANDS TRUST     WLH, WAM
HD1        Establishes the Individual Hawaiian Home Lands Trust
        Claims Compensation Commission to develop funding
        options to compensate successful claimants.

HB 2762    RELATING TO ISLAND BURIAL COUNCILS                 WLH
        Clarifies the current law to make records of the
        department of land and natural resources confidential
        if deemed sensitive by an island burial council or the
        Hawaii historic places review board.

HB 2768    RELATING TO KIKALA-KEOKEA                     WLH, WAM
HD2        Provides funds for infrastructures at Kikala-Keokea.

HB 2309    RELATING TO LAND EXCHANGE IN NORTH KONA       WLH, WAM
HD1        HAWAII
        Allows the exchange of private and public lands
        located in North Kona, Hawaii.

HB 2575    RELATING TO DISPOSITION OF WATER RIGHTS       WLH, WAM
        Allows for the disposition of water rights by direct
        negotiation in addition to public auction.  Authorizes
        the board to extend month-to-month water permits for
        additional one-year periods.

HB 2576    RELATING TO WATER RESOURCE MANAGEMENT FUND    WLH, WAM
HD1        Establishes a special fund to be known as the water
        resource management fund under the jurisdiction of the

 
        commission on water resource management for water

HB 2573    RELATING TO SPECIAL FUNDS OF THE LAND         WLH, WAM
HD1        DIVISION
        To deposit moneys collected from leases of public
        lands within industrial parks into the special land
        and development fund.

HB 2574    RELATING TO THE SPECIAL LAND AND DEVELOPMENT  WLH, WAM
HD1        FUND
        Allows moneys generated by the disposition of mineral
        and water rights into the special land and development
        fund.

HB 2782    RELATING TO BURIAL SITES                      WLH, WAM
        Authorizes the DLNR to execute mitigation plans for
        the landowner, permittee, or developer, on request,
        for inadvertent discovery of burial sites.

HB 2835    RELATING TO WATERSHED PROTECTION              WLH, WAM
HD2        Establishes a watershed protection trust fund to fund
        public and private watershed management projects
        benefiting water quality, water quantity, and general
        watershed values within designated watershed areas.
        Establishes a review board to identify watershed
        management areas.  Assesses the county water agencies
        and private water systems a fee based on the
        consumption of water for domestic purposes at a rate
        of not more than ___ cents per one thousand gallons.

HB 2836    RELATING TO CONVEYANCE TAX                    WLH, WAM
HD1        Broadens the use of the natural area reserve fund by
        including watershed management projects.

HB 3001    RELATING TO NONCOMMERCIAL PIERS               WLH, WAM
HD2        Allows the board of land and natural resources to
        lease, by direct negotiation and without recourse to
        public auction, state submerged lands or lands beneath
        tidal waters for private residential noncommercial
        piers.  Deletes the requirement that leases for
        sunbathing and swimming piers on public lands be open
        to the public with signs indicating the public's right
        to use the pier.  Deletes the requirement that
        easements or leases for noncommercial piers be
        approved by the governor and the legislature.

testimony to the committee clerk, Room 218, State Capitol, 24

than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at
586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at
least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  When faxing, please
indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and
time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for
submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
the disabled), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior
to the hearing so arrangements can be made.

Public Folder.  A folder labeled "Public Folder" containing the
measures and testimonies for the hearing will be available for
shared use by members of the public.
